Growing up, Easter was always a really special family day! My Aunt R had an awesome party that included a huge egg hunt and piƱata (not sure how that started as an Easter thing, but we loved it!). It's hard being so far away from my family especially on holidays! I'm so thankful for all the fun years, but my Aunt R's kids are still young and I hate not being there for them. I want to make sure they don't miss out on all the special memories!!!
Even in Georgia, I always try to make Easter special for J and my pups! This year money is a little tight and busy so it was a little different. I haven't talked about the additions to our house yet. My dad just moved in a month ago an the same week a long time friend N needed a place too, so we went from a family of 2 (plus pups) to a family of 4 (plus pups) in an instant! It's added some stress, but we are getting into a routine that is a little easier now.
I had to work yesterday morning so I waited to grab some Easter stuff 'til after that hoping to catch some deals. I was shocked to find nothing on sale yet! Since when is it full price half way through the day of the holiday?!?
Anyway, after that, we got in a quick bike ride. 17miles w/ 16.5mph average (which is good for all the hills and dad's bad knees). J joined me for insanity since my partner LA was out of town.
We had a family dinner and friends D ad C and their dog animus came for doggie egg hunt! We were still dog sitting so Lucy and Ethel got to play too!Lilo gets almost all of the eggs, but Flik has learned to wait for her to open them and steal some of the treats! Lol
We finished up the busy and fun day with one of J's ultimate teammates coming over to watch Game of Thrones!!! Such a great way to finish up the weekend!
I'll add more pics and video tonight from my dad's goPro, but here's what I have on the phone!
Dad's full lap Friday!
N and I dying eggs!
Dad and N and J's arm lol
Finally crawling into bed around midnight!
