Memorial Weekend with Friends!

We all must take a moment to thank our military personnel and dogs for fighting for our freedom and allowing us to experience weekends like this one!

We have the best group of friends! We have been through thick and thin and stick together through it all. We are all at very different stages, but doing life with these people is amazing!

We were missing a few special friends, but they were there in spirit!!!

Friday we drove to Raleigh, NC and met at E and C's house. We were so excited to see their house and of course their little girl E! The guys went to the farm house we rented for some guy time and C and I hung out until S arrived late. We got lots of talking in and I realized just how little our hometown is!!!
Pups are not a huge fan of long drives, but thankfully this was shorter than the Florida trip!

After a late night Friday, Saturday little girl E woke us for an early start, so we went on a hike!

Tiny part of a ginormous lake!
Hi friends!!! E likes to wave at everyone!
Swinging around to keep this girl awake
Had to take a selfie with that amazing sun! Cool and sunny weather made for a perfect weekend!
The butt tree! ☺️
After our hike and quick grocery run, we went back to the house for E's nap. She woke up and the guys came back, but one by one, they were in need of a nap too! My husband was, of course, the first one out.
Then B...
Then, the girls were the only ones left with eyes open! Little E was slightly perturbed by all the boys taking up her play area!
After adult naps, we were off for a walk!
E did not mind being the center of attention!

"Why are you taking another picture of me?"

J and I taking a goofy pic like usual!
So, the next few pictures are of my model pup Flik! I can't help taking pictures of my "first born". 😊 Sorry, not sorry!

Then there is our goofball!
Little E loved the doggies!
Trying to be a model like her brother!
Man did I miss these guys!!!
Daddy and uncle jobs!

After a quick change of clothes, we were out to dinner and a really cool barcade! The pups were allowed in and we got free tokens! πŸ˜ƒ Then we went back to the farm house for the night.

Sunday, the rest of the group went to church, but J and I wanted to take advantage of our last day and see all the things on the huge and beautiful farm!
We did not realize how spoiled our city dogs really are until we started walking around the farm and they were scared of everything (especially the sheep and donkey!!!)!
They also rode with us on the golf cart instead of having to run behind us like the other farm dogs! Ha!
Lilo was intrigued by the horse riding happening in the field next to us.
Flik was less intrigued and more nervous.
Flik did turn on his hunting instincts when he saw all the birds and a couple rabbits!

We helped feed the pigs! And wow, they stink!
Lilo stared down a younger cow and got really close to her, but as soon as the cow moved, Li took off! This is from our back porch by the way!
We grilled a ton of food for dinner and all hung out on the farm the rest of the night! πŸ˜ƒ

J and D taking a romantic paddle boat ride on the lake and our house in the background!
Really they were just on a rescue mission for the frisbee thoughπŸ˜‰
Huge draft horses and an Arabian living a comfy retirement!

Sunset from our porch!
We had a blast all night but it was too dark to take pictures! We hung out and reminisced in the beautiful cool weather!

These next few pics were taken by the lovely photographer C:

The next pictures are from breakfast on our way out of town. So good seeing these friends, but so hard to leave!!!
The S family is bringing us another group member in July and we are really excited to meet him!

Until next time...
