J leaves me for frisbee all the time, but this time I decided to join in on the fun! We got home from Florida Tuesday night, did some laundry, and packed up again to leave Friday morning.
We made a quick stop at Chimney Rock State Park (15 miles from where we were camping in Black Mountain.
The trails were absolutely beautiful; however, we did not slow down to look around! A thunderstorm was rolling in and Flik could not believe we were willing to risk his life just to see a waterfall! We jogged most of the 1.5 miles, but in Flik's defense, he did get us back with time to spare! It started raining as soon as we left the park!
Flik looks deceivingly happy here, but I promise he was all nerves! As usual, Lilo was totally oblivious and confused as to why we were making her run past all the fun smells!
What a view!!!
We couldn't climb to the top because it was almost a mile of straight stairs. I was sore from a hard lifting session the day before, but felt ready for the challenge until we saw it wasn't just a steep hike, it was all stairs and Flik just can't do that with his bad knees. This is the picture of the top though.
Awesome little mountain town!
Deceiving us again with his nervous smile! Pretty mountains in the background too!
Made it to the campsite and set up lots of tents!
Li thought she deserved to share daddy's pillow after a long day of driving!
Our little tent has just enough space for the dog's bed at our feet...if only we could get them to stay there instead of on us!
Nope...on us works much better!
Don't let these pictures fool you, we didn't sleep more than 2 hours the first night... Before we knew it, it was Frisbee time!
This field had the best views!
View from our campsite...
We got a little more sleep the second night, mostly because we were just so exhausted! Then, we were back for another day of frisbee!
It was really hot Sunday, so the pups found shade wherever they could! Could they be any more adorable?!?
Don't ask!
Here are some videos of everyone just hanging out... I have lots of game footage, but still need to edit it! Sorry guys!
Circle time after a long day of three straight wins!
So.. We didn't see much of Asheville, but we hope to go back soon to explore more! Great job Murmur!
