I've been really worried about him the past week! Monday at his first rally class I noticed a little bump on his ankle and he was acting a little slower than normal. Nicole said he had vomited that morning. The bump got bigger the next few days, so I called the vet. I told them I thought it might be a spider bite or sting of some kind but I wasn't sure. They said wait until monday and I really wish I hadn't. We brought him in this monday and the vet said it could be a tick bite infection and he could have an illness from one of them. Lilo and Flik are on the same meds for fleas and ticks and she hasn't had any but we have picked at least 10 off of him! Vet said if he wasn't drastically better after 2 days of expensive antibiotics then we need to have blood work done. This morning Joey said he seemed better so when I get home I will watch him and evaluate his behavior! I really hope he is feeling better, I don't know what I would do if something serious happened to him!
On a happier note, Lilo subbed in for Flik's rally class. I know he loves working so I hated to leave him home, but I wanted him to rest!
I was really worried because Lilo is not really at that level yet. She is really stubborn and follows Joey better than me most of the time, but she did awesome!!! I was expecting to just have to sit out and watch the class if she couldn't keep up, but she tried really hard! It was rough at first, but she caught on really fast! Of course all of this was done with food (she will do just about anything for food), but she's young and has a lot of time to get better!
She didn't like walking on my left and I realized that was a huge fault on our part. We always put Flik on the left since he was doing the competition practice and that's the side they require, so that means Lilo was always on the right. She was totally thrown when I tried to move her to the left. I learned I need to switch it up on both of them. It's better for them to be ambiwalkers anyway for chiropractic reasons. For shows they will have to be on the left, but they really need to practice on both sides! I was really surprised and proud she did as well as she did!
This was exhausted LILO when we got home! All that thinking and good behavior wore her out :)
